Homework

Homework is considered to be a natural extension of the curriculum and is set to extend and complement the work done in school.

All children take home reading books regularly. It is important to hear your child read. School reading books can be supplemented by visits to the library, books as presents and newspapers for the older children. This will help to foster within our children a love of books from an early age. We rely on parents for the prompt return and care of reading books. Lost or damaged books must be paid for. Our School Library is a good opportunity for children to experience borrowing and looking after books.

Work sent home for children usually consists of reading, spelling, maths and tasks associated with current class work. It may involve some research for a topic of study in school.
