Town Hall Visit

The Ambassadors have spend a fantastic morning with the Lord Mayor of Chester and the Lady Mayoress learning all about this special role.

Max, one of our Ambassadors has written about the morning we spent at the Town Hall:

As School Ambassadors, we were invited to the Town Hall in Chester. We meet the Lord Mayor of Chester and he showed us several roomsin the Town Hall but we loved the room used for ceremonies (such as weddings, citizenships and meetings).

In this room, we saw a mace from the eighteen hundreds and a sword. Clive then told us about the history of building and weapons and the expensives jewels. After that the Lady Mayoress made us a cup of tea which was very tasty!

We then went into the court room (this is were Sally from Cornonation Street was tried). The judges seat was very slippy!

Next, we went to the toliets and it had an orginal Victorian loo in there. It was funny but fascinating too.

The Community Ambassador visited the Community Library in Hoole to sepnd time and use the facilities. They went onto to promote the library, which is run by volunteers, to other pupils.

Afternoon Tea to Celebrate Our Older Generation

We had a wonderful afternoon celebrating our older generation  and sharing tea, cake and stories. Our Year 3 and 4 children sang for our guests.

We have been invited to attend Bowling Green Court for the residents to teach us some traditional playground games.

Well done our Community Ambassadors - we were the 2019 WINNERS of the Community Award ! It was lovely to take our partners and friends from Bowling Green Court and Grosvenor Gardens to the ceremony.
